Lila Womack was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee and upon graduating from Tennessee State University, where she studied Social Welfare, she relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. She fell in love with the city and made it her home.
In 2005, Lila became increasingly aware of the number of students not attending nor graduating from high school in her community. Dedicated to improving the conditions in her community Lila thought if young children could see the positives that high school offered they would aspire to attend. Over a twelve-year period, with the support of family, friends, and the community, Lila has sponsored educational and civic events for over 35,500 youth.
Many are amazed that Lila has financed these events with no major sponsorship. Her grassroots fundraising efforts is mainly done through donations from the community at -large and her door to door sales of lollipops. Lila is fondly known as "Lollipop Lila" across Atlanta.
Additionally, Lila Womack and Friends has supported numerous other community agencies with the donations of toiletry items, new toys, bikes and stuffed animals.
Lila Womack is the proud mother of three children, whom she strives to instill the value of education and community service.
