Mission: To showcase high school academics and extra curricular activities to elementary-aged students in our community
Goal: To sponsor (entire student body) field trips to neighboring high school and provide new toys and bikes.
Over a 5-year period, Lila Womack And Friends hosted 8 holiday programs at Frederick Douglass High School, which impacted over 3,400 elementary students. The students traveled to their local high school to see an “A Winter Wonderland” an original performance
which featured high school and college students showcasing academic and extra-curricular activities that high school and college offers.
Ms. Womack motivated the students to stay in school, become life-long learners, and make good choices. To promote positive self- esteem, Lila Womack And Friends gave each female student a new, popular African-American doll and to promote team spirit/teamwork each male student received a new football or basketball. Each students' name was entered into a raffle; one boy and one girl from each grade level won a new bike.
