December 2007 – George Towns Elementary - 60 students
Mission: to increase the high school graduation rate in our community through encouraging low performing students to improve their academics.
Goal: to recognize students with academic and behavioral improvement and to provide community support to neighborhood schools.
"Principal's Choice Award" was designed for the Principal to identify students with behavioral and academic improvement. In an effort to promote the students’ on-going progress, Ms. Womack encouraged the students to continue reading and making good choices. Lila Womack and Friends gave each of the 60 students a new, unopened, popular toy and in a raffle, one girl and one boy won a new bike.
